Agricultural Biotechnology
This Web site is brought to you by a group of U.S. agricultural schools, known as land grant colleges and universities. Their goal is to make information on agricultural biotechnology available to the public and to participate in the dialogue about the benefits and risks of this new technology, which fast is becoming a part of our everyday lives. As teaching, research and extension institutions, they are convinced that some products developed through biotechnology can provide benefits to our food system and the environment. Furthermore, they believe that the risks and benefits of any technology, including biotechnology, should be evaluated through research. http://agribiotech.info/AboutUs.htm
ArgosBiotech
Over the past few years there was a tremendous increase in bioscientific information on the world wide web and it continues to grow at staggering rates. As an information-driven internet platform for the life sciences community, ArgosBiotech is focusing on all aspects and areas of modern biotechnology and related fields. ArgosBiotech.de acts as a gateway to worldwide biotech which opens up resources to the best freely available biotechnology information. http://www.argosbiotech.de/

SOSIG : Social Science Information Gateway
The Social Science Information Gateway (SOSIG)aims to provide a trusted source of selected, high quality Internet information for researchers and practitioners in the social sciences, business and law. It is part of the UK Resource Discovery Network. One of the key features of SOSIG is the Internet Catalogue, a database of thousands of Internet resources, hand-picked and described by subject experts. The catalogue is browsable or searchable by subject area. SOSIG also offers a Social Science Search Engine, a database of over200,000 Social Science Web pages collected by software called a 'harvester' (similar mechanisms may be referred to as 'robots' or 'Web crawlers'). All the pages collected stem from the main Internet Catalogue. SOSIG has a 'people oriented' section, the Social Science Grapevine, offering details of relevant training and development opportunities, social science departments, researchers' CVs and research profiles (Likeminds). All sections can be browsed by subject or searched. Users can also tailor SOSIG services by using the free 'My Account' feature. Registered My Account users can publish information through the Social Science Grapevine, sign up to receive email updates on new additions to SOSIG and view relevant news channels. The SOSIG team also provides training and support, including workshops and Roadshows throughout the UK. http://www.ilrt.bris.ac.uk/projects/project?search=SOSIG
